Worried fans fear their favourite McDonald's items could be axed after the boss of the fast food giant announced plans to streamline menus.
McDonald's temporarily shut all of its US offices yesterday as proposals were drawn up to get rid of a number of corporate employees around the world.
CEO Chris Kempczinski warned of job cuts in January, telling staff the firm had become 'unfocused' and changes were needed to help it grow.
In an email, he also suggested that menus could be simplified in the restructuring, writing: 'We had across the globe 70 different, distinct versions of what a crispy chicken sandwich would look like. I don't need 70 different permutations of a chicken sandwich.'
Now it is feared that other key items on the menu which have been duplicated and modified according to local tastes could be removed to scale down.

Fans took to social media today to express concern over the prospect of items vanishing from the fast food menu forever.
One wrote: 'If the Egg McMuffin goes, so do I.'
Another said: 'I went to McD's in the morning ONLY because they were the only restaurant opened at 5:00 am. I vote to keep the Egg McMuffin.'
A third added: 'I swear to God, they better not remove the Spicy McChicken Sandwich. I'll lose it if they do. It's delicious.'
Another hungry fan wrote: 'As long as they don't axe the Big Mac (which has been shrinking in size over the years, unfortunately), we good.'
A fifth said: 'Where is my McRib, dammit! I want my McRib back!!'
Part of McDonald's allure abroad comes from different countries putting their own twist on classics such as the hamburger, Filet-O-Fish and McMuffin.
Variations of a McDonald's hamburger includes Japan's 'Samurai Mac' Roasted Soy Sauce Double Thick Beef burger, which features two unique patties on top of each other with cheese and onions.
Spain has a very interesting twist with their Signature Double Egg Benedictine that has two beef patties, bacon, Gouda cheese, crispy onion, egg, poppy seed bread and a creamy hollandaise sauce.
There is also a Mushroom Angus Beef Burger from Taiwan, featuring a French herb sauce and milk champagne European bread, meanwhile Korea boasts three types of onion with their 1955 Triple Onion beef burger containing grilled onion, red onion and fried onion.

Korea has another onion-based burger with their Shrimp Onion burger that comes with a fresh shrimp patty and crispy fried onions on top.

If global McDonald's fans are upset that burger items could be taken off the menu soon, they will be even more upset to see these weird and wonderful breakfast McMuffins go - and it's pretty likely you haven't tried them before.
If you find yourself in a Korean McDonald's you could try their BLT Egg Muffin, which sounds slightly strange for breakfast.
Alternatively, punters might fancy a Scrambled Eggs burger in Hong Kong or a Potato Omelette McMuffin in Spain.
And perhaps most bizarrely - Poland has a Cottage Cheese and Radish McMuffin, which they describe as giving you the taste 'of a unique homemade breakfast'.
