Which days are Bank Holidays for King Charles' coronation?
To commemorate the occasion, the Government have granted the British public an extra Bank Holiday on Monday, 8 May. This follows the early May Bank Holiday, which falls a week earlier on Monday, 1 May.
Unlike the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, the preceding Friday, 5 May has not been designated as a Bank Holiday weekend by the Government.
Will people get a day off for King Charles' coronation?
The Government website states that people are not automatically entitled to paid leave.
It adds that the majority of workers are legally entitled to 5.6 weeks’ paid holiday a year (known as statutory leave entitlement or annual leave).
Workers should check with their employer to confirm if they will be given the day off on Monday, 8 May.
If a worker is not given the day off, they can either claim another day off in lieu as part of their annual leave, or be paid for working on a Bank Holiday.
What date is King Charles' coronation ceremony?
Charles' official coronation ceremony will take place on Saturday, 6 May at Westminster Abbey.
The coronation itself will be televised by the BBC. The event will be available to watch in over 30 different locations in the UK on big screens.
A worldwide audience of hundreds of millions is expected to watch.
It is not known if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will attend the ceremony, but Harry has confirmed that the couple received an invitation from Buckingham Palace.
The Queen's coronation took place nearly 70 years before, on June 2, 1953, but she actually became monarch in February the previous year, following the death of her father George VI.

What time will King Charles' coronation start?
The exact timing of the King's coronation is yet to be confirmed.
Queen Elizabeth II's ceremony began at 11:15am and lasted nearly three hours.
The Mail on Sunday previously revealed that the service will last for just over an hour, as oppose to more than three.
What other events are happening during King Charles' coronation?
As part of the celebrations, a coronation concert will be held at Windsor Castle on Sunday, 7 May.
The official lineup has not yet been revealed for the concert is yet to be released
However, reports say that Lionel Ritchie could open proceedings. Andrew Lloyd Webber, who played as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations last year, has also been tipped to make an appearance.
There is also speculation that Adele and Ed Sheeran will be unable to perform, with Harry Styles, Kylie Minogue and Elton John all rumoured to have declined an offer to take the stage at Windsor Castle.
The Coronation Choir, made up of community choirs from across the UK, will perform at the concert.
