My, what large teeth you have! Akasha the swimming tiger enjoys an underwater lunch at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

These stunning images shows a massive tiger as it pounces underwater in pursuit of a lump of flesh.

Akasha, a two-year-old female Bengal tiger, is seen honing in on the meat with an expression of pure determination.

She then opens her jaws exposing her huge teeth as she grabs the lump of steak underwater.

Akasha was caught on camera diving for meat at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, near San Francisco, California.

Spokesman Nancy Chan said: 'Unlike most cats, tigers enjoy swimming and with the hot temperatures, can often be seen lounging in the water.

'Our tigers adore diving and splashing around. They are our top attraction, visitors are spellbound.

'We sometimes throw meat in for them to dive for but they don't normally need an excuse.'
