Ford Motor Company blames 'compromised account' for inflammatory anti-Israel X posts

Ford Motor Company has blamed a 'compromised account' for a series of anti-Israel posts on Monday.

The storied car manufacturer had published and quickly deleted three inflammatory posts to its X account, which has more than 1.4million followers.

They read, 'All eyes on Gaza,' 'Free Palestine' and 'Israel is a terrorist state,' causing a furore on social media as X users demanded answers.

But the Dearborn, Michigan company has since suggested that its account was hacked.

'Our X account was briefly compromised and the previous three posts were not authorized or posted by Ford,' it claimed. 'They do not represent Ford Motor Company.

'Ford and X are investigating this breach.'

Many on social media had earlier suggested the person running the company's social media would get fired for sharing their own thoughts on the ongoing war in the Middle East, while others accused it of being antisemitic.

'Ford hates Jewish people,' one user claimed.

'What the hell is wrong with you @Ford?' activist Eyal Yakoby added, as Eitan Fischberger, a freelance writer, accused the person of running Ford's social media of being a 'POS who forgot to switch out the account.'

Podcaster Lou Perez took a more humorous approach, noting that its founder had his own antisemitic views.

'Who's running Ford's social media? Henry Ford?' Perez wrote.

Ford's founder Henry Ford continued to do business with Nazi Germany throughout World War II, spoke openly against Jewish people and was even praised by Hitler himself.

Brianna Wu, the executive director of the Rebellion PAC, also took aim at the company's more than 120-year history.

'Ford in 1966: "We're gonna get young people's attention by beating Ferrari at Le Mans"' she wrote.

'Ford in 2024: "We also wanna kill the Jews."

Others took a more moderate approach, noting that it is unconventional for a company to post about such a controversial topic.

'Ever want to be a social media intern at Ford?' blogger Courtney O'Dell wrote. 'I think they might be hiring.'

Yet others also seemed to support Ford's post, including self-described journalist Sulaiman Ahmed, who argued  that the company should 'GIVE THIS FORD EMPLOYEE A MEDAL.'

The apparent hack comes amid the ongoing war in the Middle East, which began when Hamas terrorists kidnapped and killed Israelis at a music festival on October 7, 2023.

It has since spread across the entire region, with Houthi fighters recently firing a missile at Israel's main airport in retaliation for the country's forces targeting a runway in Yemen.

The rebel group responded to last Thursday's strikes in Sanaa by hitting Ben Gurion Airport – which is only ten miles away from Tel Aviv.

Israeli missiles struck the airport in Yemen's capital as the director-general of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, boarded a flight.

According to the United Nations, three people were killed and dozens injured.

Israel said its strikes targeted the infrastructure of Yemen's Houthi rebels in retaliation for repeated volleys of missiles fired by the rebels toward central Israel in recent days

Officials in Israel said the Houthi missile at Ben Gurion was intercepted, yet 18 people suffered minor injuries as they rushed to a bomb shelter and flights were delayed for half an hour.
