Shocking moment driver and passenger grapple with a motorcyclist in road rage row after he 'cut them up'

The shocking footage shows a violent road rage incident when a driver and his passenger furiously grapple with a motorcyclist, who they accused of cutting them up while driving through Plymouth.

The motorcyclist, who captured the incident with a helmet camera, has to be rescued from the aggressive struggle by passersby who rush to break up the trio. 

As the camera on the motorcyclist's helmet is thrown back and forth during the fracas, a flurry of swear words from all parties capture the fury of the dispute.

Road rage: The row began when the Black Peugeot veered into the left-hand lane, after crossing over a roundabout in Plymouth

Cut up: While the motorcyclist believed the Peugeot cut him up by veering into his lane, the driver of the car claimed the cyclist shouldn't have been in the bus lane

The motorcyclist is first seen crossing a roundabout before the black Peugeot appears from the right-hand-side of the screen, veering into his lane.

But the driver of the Peugeot blares his horn loudly before the motorists hurl a flurry of insults at each other and the cyclist can be seen holding up his middle finger. 

But when the vehicles have to pull up at a red light just seconds later, the motorcyclist is seen landing a kick on the back of the Peugeot.

Both driver and passenger emerge at once and the fracas ensues.

The driver, a grey-haired man who appears to be in his early 60s, shouts that the cyclist 'kicked the f****** thing' before grabbing the motorcyclist.

Furious: The driver yelled at the motorcyclist as he was overtaken, but the motorcyclist held up his middle finger

Escalating: The black Peugeot re-overtook the motorcyclist, blaring its horn, when they arrived at a red light just seconds later

As the motorcyclist falls to the floor during the fray, the camera is obscured while the shouting and tussling continues.  

The incident lasted for just less than a minute until passersby intervened, breaking up the trio and telling them to 'calm down'.

'You f****** cut me up!' the motorcyclist shouts to the driver in the clip, uploaded to YouTube by a woman who said she is the motorcyclist's wife. 

He responds: 'You were in the bus lane!'

The cyclist replies: 'You cut me up and it's all on f****** video, you f***!'

Plymouth police were not able to immediately offer a comment on the incident.

Pulled apart: The incident continued until passersby managed to calm the trio down and separate them
