It's the Achilles Heel of millions of learner drivers - the dreaded reverse park.

However, this hilarious video of a struggling driver in Russia shows that it's a manoeuvre even qualified motorists still can't quite get to grips with.

The driver of this 4x4 was caught on camera having a complete nightmare trying to park their car in a fairly generous space in the Russian city of Serpukhov.

Despite having at least three metres of space to play with, the red vehicle slowly reverses almost perfectly into the parking spot - before going on a snail's pace rampage against the car sat beside it.

While trying to reposition itself within the empty space, the car ends up colliding with the off roader parked beside it.

Then, in a panicked attempt to reverse back into the fairly large opening, it grinds against the parked car's front bonnet - with the force of the friction even creating a noticeable plume of smoke between the two

Undeterred, the driver continues to plough on with their failed attempt at abandoning their vehicle.

Constantly turning the wheel in the wrong direction, the car repeatedly squeezes against the perfectly parked neighbouring car, presumably damaging its front passenger side.

Having all but ruined every chance of successfully negotiating its way into the space, the driver - clearly frustrated by their efforts - eventually throws in the towel

Passers-by can be seen gawking in horror at the driver's horrific try at parking, but walk past unwilling to interfere with the drastic attempt.

As the parking space sits there empty, the motorist gives up after rubbing against the parked Mitsubishi one more, shooting off out of shot after realising the damage caused.
