Halloween fan gets married at a haunted house in Michigan in full costume as his creepy 'Grub the clown' character

A pair of Halloween fans decided to marry in a haunted house at the weekend - unsurprisingly ditching the usual suits and whites dresses for evil clown costumes and horror film characters.

Michael Bernardoni, known locally in St Charles, Michigan as Grub the clown, tied the knot with his fiance Nadine Byron on Saturday.

Not only did they decide to marry in costume - but they did so in the town's only haunted home, Michigan's Village of the Living Dead.

Mr Bernardoni's best man was Justin Kinney, who attended the ceremony dressed as a wolf man

Mr Bernardoni and his wife both volunteer to work at the home scaring visitors, so it was only fitting the pair married at the location.

He is known for his self-created character Grub the Clown - a terrifying looking clown that has bright green hair and wears leather.

According to mLive, he described his character as a 'sassy, bitter clown', while his best man Justin Kinney, who attended the ceremony dressed as a wolf man, said: 'I wouldn't expect anything less.'

The website reported that Mr Bernardoni, first visited the Village of the Living Dead when he was eight. He then wrote a letter to the board, stating how it could be improved the following year.

They implemented the changes - then hired him to start scaring visitors.
