An exclusive island resort has reopened after two devastating cyclones that caused millions of dollars of destruction.
The Lizard Island Resort, off the coast of Cairns in far north Queensland, has reopened its doors to guests looking for an exclusive escape.
In April 2014 the secluded resort was hit by Cyclone Ita, it had undergone renovations but was directly hit again in March of 2015 by Cyclone Nathan just days before it was due to reopen.
After 16 months of extensive renovations guests can look forward to on stunning private beaches, the luxurious spas, 40 luxurious suites and villas, world class bars and restaurants.

The exclusive resort, in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, has no mobile for coverage and does not cater to children nine and under.
The interiors of the suites and villas are minimal and beach themed, put together by Melbourne design firm Hecker Guthrie.
While Lizard Island has a luxurious , it also offers guests the chance to explore the great outdoors with nature walks, snorkeling and interpretive glass bottom boat tours.

'The opening of the Marlin Bar marks the completion of the resort's $45 million refurbishment,' said Executive Director of Australian Parks and Resorts at Delaware North Companies, Greg Magi.
'The tireless efforts of our staff and partners over the past 16 months sees us in a really solid and exciting position to re-establish Lizard Island as a world leader in luxurious resort accommodation,' Mr Magi said.
