Ted Cruz's stock is on the rise in Iowa, thanks to his performance in last week's debate, a poll released today shows.
He improved his standing in the Hawkeye State by five percent in one week, pushing him into third place in the KBUR survey.
He's still behind Ben Carson and Donald Trump, who had 28 percent and 20 percent of the votes to his 15 percent. The poll has him pulling ahead of rival senator Marco Rubio, though, and 11 other candidates seeking the GOP nomination for president.

Cruz won the evening in Boulder with a lecture aimed at debate moderators during which he informed them that the GOP presidential contest is not a 'cage match.'
'Look at the questions: "Donald Trump, are you a comic-book villain?" "Ben Carson, can you do math?" "John Kasich, will you insult two people over here?" "Marco Rubio, why don't you resign?" "Jeb Bush, why have your numbers fallen?" How about talking about the substantive issues that people care about?'
He had Twitter aflutter with the comments, and it was the most-tweeted about moment of the evening.
Cruz also had supporters reaching for their pocketbooks. He raised $1.1 million in the next 22 hours.
The KBUR survey, taken in conjunction with Monmouth college, shows Cruz's comments resonating with non-supporters, as well.
As Monmouth and KBUR's Robin Johnson notes, Cruz is the only candidate to significantly shift his position following the CNBC debate. All other top tier candidates' numbers remained statistically static.
Pundits almost universally agreed after the Colorado head-to-head that Rubio had a strong night, as well, and a poll of New Hampshire voters that came out today had him up three percent higher than he was before.
In the Iowa poll, though, his vote share remained the same - 10 percent.
And while Jeb Bush was panned as the loser of a heated exchange with Rubio, his numbers didn't drop in the KBUR poll. He instead gained a point and is now at nine percent.
No one else came close to the top five in the poll, and the data was mostly stayed consistent with pre-debate numbers - suggesting the primetime neither helped nor hurt the rest of the pack, at least in the first caucus state.
They'll all have another chance next week in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, though, when they take the stage at Fox Business News' debate on Nov. 10.
