'He's punching him!' The moment a Sydney bus driver snapped and 'bashed a taxi driver' for parking in a bus zone

A road rage incident got out of hand after a bus driver left the wheel to allegedly punch and spit on a taxi driver who was illegally parked in the bus zone.

A shocked passenger filmed the attack, which happened while the bus was stuck in Sydney traffic at Victoria Cross on Tuesday, as commuters inside the Route 229 bus waited for the driver to return.

Patrons can be heard in the video saying 'he's punching him' as they express their disbelief at the unfolding drama.

A shocked passenger filmed the bus driver reaching in through the car window and attacking the taxi driver

The bus driver, dressed in his blue Sydney Transport uniform, is seen getting off the bus to shout at the cab driver before approaching the window and raising his fists to punch him.

He then apparently fights the taxi driver before spitting on him and walking away, when he eventually gets back on his bus he can be heard saying 'Get f*****d'. 

The video was posted on Reddit on Tuesday and has been viewed over 10,000 times in just 24 hours.

User Shinobi posted the clip with an explanation as to why the attack happened.

'What caused the scuffle was the cabbie had parked half his car illegally past the bus zone sign,' he wrote. 

'The bus driver was pulling over to stop and decided to honk and swear at the cabbie to move his car - which he could not as the bus had blocked him in. 

'That's when he decided to leave the bus.'

State Transit have suspended the bus driver and will conduct an internal investigation. 

'At State Transit, we expect the highest standards from our staff and anyone found to be doing the wrong thing will be disciplined,' a spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.

'The bus driver involved in the incident has been suspended without pay, pending State Transit’s internal investigation.

'State Transit will cooperate with any Police investigation that may occur.'
