The Scorpion Queen! Stomach-churning moment Chinese waitress eats wriggling eight-legged creepy crawly

This is something you might well have expected to see on the latest outing of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!

A waitress in China received a round of applause from customers when she decided to eat a live scorpion.

It is believed she undertook the stomach-churning challenge to encourage those dining in the restaurant to join her in enjoying the local delicacy.  

The waitress first teases the customers, then puts the live scorpion into her mouth and chews down

The video, filmed by one of the 'learners' at a restaurant in Beijing last month, shows the young woman putting a moving scorpion into her month entirely and chewing it with a few bites.

The footage begins by showing a number of live scorpions crawling about on a tower decoration, before the woman leans in with chopsticks to pluck one out.

She then shows the scorpion to the camera, and it's clearly alive as it wriggles away.

She then moves the animal towards her mouth, but doesn't put it straight in, holding it by her lips.

Teasing the baying customers, she put the scorpion into her open mouth, before pulling it out again, but then shows how it's really done.

She then begins to chew on the scorpion, much to the delight of those watching on. It appears she is enjoying the meal however, and she smiles towards the camera.

Live scorpions are part of a traditional dish in China.

It's not this scorpion's lucky day, as it is selected to be eaten by the Chinese waitress

She is keen to show the camera that the anthropod is very much alive, before plunging it into her mouth
