Denice Scala has come under fire after a number of staff allegedly left the school under her leadership
The principal of one of Sydney's top girl schools has written to parents after a social media campaign was waged against her in defiance of her leadership.
Anonymous posts on a blog for MLC School in Sydney's inner-west have revealed a rising campaign urging the dismissal of the school's current principal, Denice Scala.
The prestigious school, which costs $28,000 a year to attend, has reportedly lost four head teachers in two years, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
The hashtag #ReclaimOurMLC is being used on social media as individuals protest the alleged 'mistreatment and mismanagement' of staff at the school.
Parents were urged to stand with their backs turned to Ms Scala during a speech night on Wednesday at the Sydney Entertainment Centre as a reminder of the loss of staff.
'Speech night tonight will be like a funeral for me. I'm so upset with the loss of... staff,' one individual wrote on the anonymous blog.
Another echoed the sentiments of other nameless bloggers, calling for the immediate removal of Ms Scala.

In an email acquired by Fairfax Media that was sent to parents, Ms Scala addressed concerns within the school community regarding the loss of staff.
'This is always a time of year with heightened emotion and I am very conscious that as parents who care about the school you are worried about staff turnover,' she wrote.
'(The numbers are) consistent with other independent schools and an important part of renewal.'
'In 2016 the pace of change will slow and I will redirect my focus to greater communication with the broader community,' Ms Scala told Fairfax Media.
Ms Scala came under further criticism following a petition that was advocating to keep a family working at the school canteen rather than employing new workers
Further criticism of the school's head came earlier in the year after a petition critiqued a decision to cancel the contract of a family who had run the school's canteen for 15 years

'Our canteen already is the beating heart of MLC and Anthony's catering is the force that drives it,' read the petition. It was in protest over the creation of 'Cafe 1886' - a space designed for 2016 with new owners.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted MLC School and Ms Scala for comment.
