Woman, 41, dies in a Frankfurt hotel after undergoing an EXORCISM: Five arrested including her own son after her body was beaten to free the ‘demons’ from inside her

A Korean woman died following a botched 'exorcism' at a Frankfurt hotel room. Five people, including her 15-year-old son have been arrested for trying to rid the 41-year-old victim of 'demons'. 

Prosecutors allege that the woman was badly beaten during a two-hour ordeal inside the room in the €200-a-night Frankfurt Intercontinental Hotel. 

The five people arrested were allegedly trying to 'cast out devils' in the woman. She was tied up and beaten on a bed.

A post-mortem confirmed that the victim suffocated after a towel had been shoved into her mouth

A towel had been stuffed into her mouth to prevent her screams from alerting fellow hotel guests. 

It is believed that the six Koreans, including the victim, arrived in the country around six weeks ago. 

A second alleged victim was discovered in a house in the Frankfurt suburb of Sulzbach. 

She was severely dehydrated and suffering from hypothermia. 

According to the Frankfurt Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper, a judge issued arrest warrants for a 44-year-old woman, her son, 21, daughter, 19 and an unrelated 15-year-old boy. 

The five suspects, including the victim's son are currently on remand. The woman reportedly told investigators that the victim died during an exorcism. 

A post-mortem found that the woman smothered on the towel which had been pushed in with a metal coat hanger. 

Senior prosecutor Nadja Niesen said: 'Based on current information, the defendants subjected the victim to at least two hours pain and agony. Their action was supported by a callous and ruthless attitude. 

'This is something I've never seen.'
