A sheep shearer has captured the moment he rode his motorbike into a swarming mob of kangaroos in the outback.

Mitch Harrison, from Broken Hill in outback NSW, was looking for sheep when he stumbled upon the frenzied pack of marsupials.

The roos appear to be terrified of the bike, fleeing in fright and scrambling to hop over a nearby fence.

Some of the kangaroos in the vision can be seen toppling over as they leap over the fence in a state of panic.

‘We are starting shearing tomorrow and found more than a few hundred sheep, 2-3000 roos if not more,’ Mr Harrison said in the video’s decsription.

The clip has amassed nearly 50,000 views on Facebook and over a 1000 shares since it was uploaded this week.

It comes after a similar video in December showing a throng of roos ‘avalanching’ in front of a truck in Queensland.

A farmer shared the video online and raised concerns the animals had reached a state of overpopulation.

‘We are genuinely concerned because if their population levels exceed what the land can naturally sustain, then not only do the kangaroos suffer horribly, but this drought stricken land suffers too,’ he wrote.
