Gone with the wind! Terrifying footage captures the moment a building is blown away by strong gale

A strong storm hit northern China on May 3 causing damage and chaos in the region. 

Tongliao in the country's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was the worst affected with one person killed and around 400 houses damaged.

A prefabricated building can be seen being blown over by the wind. 

It hits the floor and completely falls to pieces. 

The debris continues to fly around as the wind batters the city.  

In a statement, the country's Ministry of Affairs said :'On the evening of the 3rd, the city was battered by heavy rain and strong winds which at one point reached 9 on the storm level.' 

According to the ministry over 1,500 people were affected. One person died after being hit by falling objects. 

300 people were evacuated from their homes. 

The ministry says the direct economic loss is estimated to be 400 million yuan (£42.3 million).
