Overcharged: Billionaire Thomas Golisano is suing his Rochester-based interior decorator

Billionaire Thomas Golisano is suing his Rochester-based interior decorator, claiming she overcharged him hundreds of thousands of dollars for furnishings for his 240-foot Florida yacht.

The Democrat and Chronicle reports the founder of Rochester-based Paychex Inc., a payroll processing firm, has filed a civil lawsuit against Norma Goldman in state Supreme Court in Rochester.

Golisano, who mainly resides in Florida, claims Goldman's $845,000 bill for work she did on the West Palm Beach-based Laurel was $400,000 too high. The Laurel was listed at $79.5million in 2012, according to Business Insider.

He says the decorator overcharged him by reneging on a verbal agreement to sell Golisano the furnishings at her wholesale price.

Goldman denies promising that the furnishings wouldn't be marked up.

The complaint states that Goldman spent about six months going over color schemes and adornments.

Her first bill totaled just under $845,000 and included $34,000 for her 242 hours of work at $140 an hour, according to the Democrat and Chronicle.

He also says that Goldman gave him so many $500 pillows that he had to put nearly 32 of them in storage which totals $16,000 dollars.

The Laurel, which can be leased for $605,000 per week, also boasted six state rooms, a gym, a hot tub, a 20-person crew . The court papers say why Golisano thought he was swindled, according to Naples News.

Goldman claims Golisano got the same deal on the yacht as he did on his home, which was a discount on the suggested retail price of the furnishings.

The 74-year-old Golisano's main residence is in Florida. The former owner of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres also has a home in suburban Rochester. His net worth is $2.5billion, according to Forbes.
