'I'm not sure why I waited this long': Daredevil grandmother goes skydiving for the first time to celebrate her 90th birthday

  • Beth Roberts, from Boise, Idaho, tandem jumped from 16,000-feet
  • She went with her two sons and granddaughter
  • Now planning another jump for her 95th birthday

Beth Roberts is not your average grandmother - and she's definitely not your average nonagenarian.

To celebrate her 90th birthday recently, the energetic Idaho woman decided to accompany her two sons and granddaughter on a 16,000-foot skydive.

Looking exhilarated and unable to stop smiling, video of the tandem jump shows Beth and her instructor falling for about one minute before pulling open their chute, NBC reported.

Beth could not wipe the smile off her face as she and the instructor came in to land after the dive

After something of a rocky landing, the two were straight on their feet, with Beth still smiling.

According to NBC, the weather conditions were harsher than normal, and wind threatened to throw the pair off track.

But Beth seemed concern-free when she touched back on the ground.

'Wow! I'd do that again, what a thrill,' Beth said afterwards.

'I'm not sure why I waited so long in my life to give this a go.'
