As the east coast of Australia melts under a scorching heatwave, thousands of people flocked to the beach to escape the heat.
And for those who weren't daring enough to face the sun, social media was the next best place to vent their frustration at the weather.
Sydney sizzled in temperatures that hovered around 40C on Sunday, while in the west, Penrith reached the highest temperature on record with 47.1C at 1pm, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
Taking to Twitter, users were quick to post everything from melting ice creams to screenshots of their local temperatures.

With seemingly no escape in sight, one woman asked her followers if sitting in her fridge would help cool her down.
'It is 39C in my house right now. Would I die if I just shut myself in my fridge?,' she asked.
'Just for like 10 minutes.'
