The iconic FOMO festival has made its way to Adelaide, bringing with it a swarm of glitter-covered music lovers and even a paddle boat full of non-paying revellers.

Revellers decked out in their best festival outfits descended on Elder Park on Sunday to dance and drink to the sounds of artists from around the globe.

Taking centre-stage at the country-wide music event were American rappers Post Malone and RL Grimes and a handful of musicians including Australian band Kite String Tangle.

Revellers decked out in their best festival outfits descended on Elder Park on Sunday to dance and drink to the sounds of artists from around the globe

Crowds of music fans enjoyed the tunes while some punters who couldn't nab the coveted tickets listened from a paddle boat on River Torrens, which sits behind the festival grounds.

A man wearing a snorkel even took a dip in the river as fellow revellers enjoyed the sounds of rapper Post Malone's hit song 'I Fall Apart'.

The sartorial choices of the young attendees at the over-18 event were similar to their Queensland counterparts. 

The theme of the FOMO festival this year was again mountains of glitter, with female attendees arriving dressed in sparkling body suits, fishnet stockings and even bikini tops to beat the heat.

As with many other festivals, FOMO attendees wore glitter body paint as they enjoyed the sounds of their favourite music artists

Adelaide enjoyed a mildly sunny day with a top of 28C, and attendees took the opportunity to wear skin-baring outfits with some very unique choices.

Tiny crop-tops and booty shorts were out in full force while other women opted for glittery and even leather skirts.

Attendees converged at the stage during the 10-hour festival to watch the global music acts perform during the day.

Throngs of people swayed and danced in the crowd while police officers stood close by in case the fun got out of hand.

The wildly popular festivals, which are now held annually across Australia, sold out quickly when tickets went on sale last year.

FOMO took place in Brisbane on Saturday and will be followed by January 11 in Melbourne and January 13 in Sydney's Parramatta Park.
