A trainee firefighter has delivered a searing rebuke of a government-run safety program, revealing that she and fellow students were called 'fat f**ks, retards, dumb s**ts and spastics'.
Lisa Madsen quit Airservices Australia's 15-week course in Melbourne after months of relentless bullying and verbal abuse from a pair of instructors.
In a resignation letter issued to the aviation safety organisation in March 2018, the 37-year-old former paramedic bluntly laid out her issues with the program, News.com.au reports.

Ms Madsen accused the two instructors of repeatedly calling trainees 'disgraceful' names and ordering them to carry out tasks that clearly constituted safety breaches.
'Over the past nine weeks we have been called 'fat f**ks, retards, dumb s**ts and spastics',' she wrote.
'This behaviour is unacceptable and in 2018 hard to believe still continues.'

Official sanctions have since been handed to the two members of staff: one being issued a formal written warning and the other receiving formal counselling.
'Airservices takes staff behaviour extremely seriously and is confident that this was an isolated incident,' said an Airservices spokesperson.
