Thugs brutally bash an elderly man as they rob his home and leave him fighting for life

  • The elderly man was found unconscious at his home on Tuesday afternoon
  • The 79-year-old had been the victim of a robbery and is now in critical condition

An elderly man is in intensive care after a robbery at his home early on Tuesday.

Police said officers arrived at home in Gosnells, near Perth, after receiving a triple zero call on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers entered the home and found the 79-year-old man unconscious inside.

Police said there were no visible signs of trauma on the man but he was transported to the Fiona Stanley Hospital where he remains in intensive care, The West Australian reported. 

Perth detectives are investigating the home invasion.

Police are also asking anyone who may have information about the crime to contact Crime Stoppers.
