A Chinese traffic policeman had to hold on for dear life when he was dragged through the busy roads of Shanghai, China.

However, instead of getting caught, the drunk driver sped off with the inspector attached to the left side of his vehicle. He has now been apprehended.
Carried away: Police officer was dragged along busy traffic by a drunk driver (circled) in Shanghai, China
Busted: The driver, named Wang, had been stopped for a routine inspection and tested positive for alcohol
Escape: Wang tried to make a quick getaway to evade punishment. He has now been apprehended by police
According to reports, the incident took place in the early hours of November 14.
The traffic officer, named as Miao Yumin, was carrying out on the spot inspections for drink driving at a police barrier.
He stopped a Roewe 350, valued at around 78,000 Yuan (£7,800), to give the driver a breathalyser.
The driver, identified by his surname Wang, complied and tested positive for drink driving.
However, when Miao asked Wang to hand over his licence and get out of the vehicle for further inspection, Wang wound up the window and drove off.
The policeman didn't have an opportunity to get out of the way and had his arm trapped in the window of the vehicle.
As a result, Miao was dragged long the road for more than half a mile while attached to the side of the car.

Getaway: Wang drove past two junctions before freeing Miao. He drove to a different province the same night
Video footage of the incident showed that the officer seemed to be partially suspended off the floor as it weaved through night-time traffic.
Wang claimed that he didn't realise the officer was still attached to his car and it wasn't safe to stop when he finally spotted Miao.
The drunk driver eventually freed the officer from the car more than half a mile down the road, having crossed two junctions.
It's not clear whether Miao sustained any injuries as a result of the ordeal.
Wang was said to have driven more than 530 miles to Shangdong, east China, on the same night to evade capture.
He was arrested just three days later and has been detained by the police for obstruction of official business.
It is not clear whether the driver will face charges for his drink driving as well.
