Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has made it crystal clear that he is not a fan of the Pac-12's late kickoff times.

The Buffaloes are slated to play Stanford Cardinal at 8pm on Friday night in Boulder. And speaking on Wednesday night, on his weekly radio program 'Buffaloes Primetime Radio Show', 'Coach Prime' hit out at the schedule.

'That is the dumbest thing ever. It’s the stupidest thing ever in life,' he said. 'Who wants to stay up until 8 o’clock for a dern game? What about the East Coast? Do they even care about ratings or anybody watching it?'

Friday night's match will kick off at 10pm ET. Earlier this season, the Buffaloes hosted rivals Colorado State in the same time slot.

Two of their three home games this season started at 10am local time and Sanders doubled-down on his displeasure at playing late on a Friday evening.

'What are we supposed to do with the kids all day until 8 o'clock? What are we supposed to do?' he said.

'Thank God we’re not going to be in this conference,' he added, in reference to Colorado leaving the Pac-12 in 2024 to join the Big 12 conference.

Aside from his successful NFL career and two Super Bowl titles with the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, Sanders also played nine seasons in the MLB and appeared in the 1992 World Series with the Atlanta Braves. In December 2022, Sanders became the head coach of the Buffaloes and flipped the program upside-down.

Sanders turned a team that had a 1-11 record into must-see television. The Buffaloes won their first three games under Sanders and they have starred in five of the ten most-watched college football games this season.

In his first game as head coach, Sanders lead Colorado to a 45-42 win over Texas Christian University who played in the national championship game the year prior. The game had nearly 7.3 million viewers and broke Fox's record for most-watched Week 1 matchup, topping 2022's average by 1.1 million views.

Despite dropping back-to-back games against Oregon and USC, Colorado responded with a win over Arizona State in their last game. The Buffaloes hold a 4-2 record ahead of their game against Stanford.
