- Abdoulaye Doucoure was sent off for hitting Tottenham's Harry Kane in the face
- Kane went down clutching his face and has been criticised for his reaction
- Kane went on to score a penalty but Spurs were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton
Harry Kane has received criticism after falling to the ground following an altercation with Abdoulaye Doucoure during Tottenham's 1-1 draw against Everton on Monday.
The incident occurred just before the hour mark when Kane conceded a free-kick but was slow to give the ball back to Doucoure.
The Mali midfielder reacted angrily and pushed Kane in the face, with the England captain going down straight away.
Everton boss Sean Dyche turned away in disgust at Kane's reaction, but referee David Coote had no hesitation in sending Doucoure off.
Dyche was not the only one disappointed by Kane's behaviour as Danny Murphy slammed the forward for clutching his face and staying down for so long, but admitted Doucoure deserved a red card.

Jamie Carragher also labelled Kane's antics 'embarrassing', but Gary Neville defended the 29-year-old by claiming Doucoure's clawing motion with his fingers could have 'shocked' Kane.
Following Doucoure's dismissal, Kane was able to continue and he put Tottenham in front from the penalty spot after Michael Keane brought down Cristian Romero in the area.
Spurs failed to hold on for all three points at Goodison Park, though, in their first match since Antonio Conte left the club.
The visitors were also reduced to 10 men when substitute Lucas Moura was given his marching orders for a late tackle on Keane, and the Everton defender then fired home a stunning 25-yard effort to earn a point for Dyche's men.
The result leaves Tottenham inside the top four on goal difference, but they have played two games more than fifth-placed Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Everton's fightback saw them move up to 15th, but they remain in a precarious position just one point above the relegation zone.
