Crystal Palace talisman Wilfried Zaha ruled out for three to four weeks after scan on his groin reveals the injury he suffered in win over Leicester isn't as bad as first feared
- Wilfried Zaha will be injured for 3-4 weeks after having a scan on his groin injury
- The scan on Monday revealed the extent of his injury is less serious than feared
- There were initial fears that Zaha would be out injured until the end of the season
Wilfried Zaha’s groin injury is not as bad as first feared but Crystal Palace will still be without their key man for three to four weeks.
The Palace winger, 30, pulled up just before half-time in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Leicester and looked to be agony as he left the pitch.
There were fears Zaha’s season could have been over but following a scan on Monday it is hoped the Ivory Coast international will be back for the final few matches of the season.
Zaha’s future is unclear with his contract up this summer and if he had been ruled out for the rest of the season he could have played his last game at Selhurst Park.
Instead, Roy Hodgson can look forward to having the club’s talisman back for the run-in as they fight to stay in the Premier League.

However Zaha will miss a crucial run of games as Crystal Palace fight to distance themselves from the relegation zone
Palace are 12th following the win over Leicester but are still only three points clear of the relegation zone in one of the tightest scraps for survival in years.
Hodgson’s side travel to Leeds on Sunday looking to build on a win in his first match in charge since taking the reins following Patrick Vieira’s sacking.
