Bolton set for another raid on Middlesbrough with £3m summer move for Williams
Bolton are set to test Middlesbrough's resolve to keep Rhys Williams by offering £3million for the highly-rated defender in the summer.
Trotters boss Owen Coyle is looking to bolster his defensive options and is preparing to raid the Teeside club for the second time this year, having signed David Wheater, another Boro academy graduate, in January.

Middlesbrough are not keen to sell but need to slash the club's £20m wage bill and boss Tony Mowbray could be forced to cash in.
Coyle has already worked with Williams during the defender's five-month loan spell at Burnley in 2009, when Coyle was boss at Turf Moor, and could tempt the Australia international by offering £25,000 per week to move to the Reebok Stadium.

The versatile Williams, 22, can play at right back, in the centre of defence and in central midfield, but has had his Boro appearances limited this term by injury. He has two years to run on his current deal at the Riverside.
