West Ham recall Spence from loan spell at Bristol City to plug injury-hit defence
West Ham have recalled Jordan Spence from his loan spell at Bristol City in a bid to strengthen their ailing defence.
The Hammers currently lie bottom of the Barclays Premier League and three points from safety with just three games remaining.
Matthew Upson (dead leg) and James Tomkins (knee) are injury doubts for the run-in so right-back Spence has been recalled to boost the squad.

The 20-year-old has impressed for npower Championship outfit City since joining on March 3, making 11 appearances and forcing his way into the England Under-21 set-up.
West Ham manager Avram Grant has used a 24-hour call-back in Spence's loan agreement to call him back from Ashton Gate, meaning he could add to his solitary senior appearance for the east Londoners before the end of the season.
