The winner of Tuesday night’s FA Cup second round clash between Yeovil and Accrington Stanley stands to earn £221,000 - and could make another £1.5million if they can force a replay against Manchester United in the third round.
League One Yeovil host League Two Stanley at Huish Park after they drew 1-1 earlier this month and both now know a home tie against United in the New Year awaits the winner of the replay.
The FA dish out £27,000 in prize money for a second-round victory, plus the winner will earn a further £144,000 from BT Sport, who will broadcast United’s third round tie live.

The winners could pocket an extra £1.5million if they can force United to a replay at Old Trafford
With each team permitted to keep 45 per cent of gate receipts in the FA Cup, Yeovil or Stanley are set to earn in the region of £50,000 with the United tie almost certain to be sold out at either Yeovil’s 9,565-seater stadium or at Accrington’s 5,057-capacity Crown Ground.
That adds up to a total of £221,000 - but if a replay can somehow be forced then Yeovil or Stanley will be laughing all the way to the bank.
With gate receipts at Old Trafford totalling roughly £3,000,000 per match, the share for each side would be around £1.3m, with another £144,000 likely to come from BT Sport again, pushing the total earnings up to the region of £1.5m.
Should Yeovil or Accrington Stanley beat United they would pocket another £67,500 in prize money. That scenario may seem a little far-fetched, but either way the winner of Tuesday night’s second round replay should be delighted to have drawn United.
