Jamie Carragher believes Jose Mourinho's 'embarrassing' post-match interviews must stop if he is to turn Chelsea's form around, while Gary Neville says the club are at a 'crossroads' in their aim for stability.
Ex-Liverpool defender Carragher claimed Chelsea's players would not agree with Mourinho's frequent assessment that referees have had a significant contribution to a start which sees the Premier League champions 15th in the table with 11 points from as many games.
After the 3-1 defeat by Liverpool on Saturday, a rattled Mourinho answered every question posed to him from BT Sport with 'I have nothing to say' as Chelsea's season plunged to a new low.

'He has to change some things and these interviews have got to stop, because they're embarrassing him and they're embarrassing the club,' Carragher said on Monday Night Football.
'Maybe he's trying to create a siege mentality but I don't think the players would be totally agreeing with the manager, blaming referees. Chelsea were very poor at the weekend.
'This paranoia has got to stop, that the world is against them because they're not.'
Neville, meanwhile, believes Chelsea's atrocious start to the season has left Roman Abramovich at a crossroads as to whether he should continue trying to install stability at Stamford Bridge.
Abramovich has appointed nine managers, including Mourinho twice, since buying the club in 2003 but in recent years is said to favour a steadier approach.
It is being tested by the Portuguese, whose own longest reign at a club is only three years and four months, in his first spell with the Blues.
'This is now the killer moment for me, the crossroads moment for Chelsea,' Neville said.
'If I'm Roman Abramovich now, is he walking in thinking I've got to get rid of Jose Mourinho because he might not finish fourth and he has given some bad interviews after games?
'Or is he thinking, actually, relax. Let's go and bring three or four academy players in, let's sacrifice a season, let's change the club philosophy, let's stand behind the manager.
'That's what I'm waiting for now so we can see whether Abramovich is the same owner he always has been, which is someone who sacks managers after eight months, and whether Jose Mourinho can hang around longer than two or three years.'
