Manchester City lost 1-0 to Juventus in a disappointing Champions League Group D clash in Turin on Wednesday but the club's night got off to the worst possible start, even before kick-off.
The match day announcer at Juventus Stadium did not endear himself to the visiting fans by introducing their club as Manchester United before going through the team line-ups.
Despite immediately correcting his mistake, saying, 'the team from Manchester United...sorry, City' his gaffe prompted loud whistles from the upper tiers where City's fans were situated.

With City's supporters still reeling from the mistake, Mario Mandzukic scored the only goal of the match for last year's finalists, in the 18th minute.
Brushing off a weak attempt to prevent him from advancing from City's Argentine centre half Nicolas Otamendi, the Croatian side-footed a volley past Joe Hart for a simple, but brilliantly executed, goal.
Manuel Pellegrini's side next face Southampton at home in the Premier League on Saturday, before again playing at the Etihad Stadium against Championship outfit Hull City in the Capital One Cup quarter-final, next Tuesday.
They will then take on Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium in the league on Saturday, December 5, before playing their final Champions League group match against Borussia Monchengladbach in Manchester on Tuesday, December 8.
