Manchester United winger Memphis Depay admits he is 'extremely humbled' by the news his shirt is the third best-selling in the world, only behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 21-year-old was given the surprising news a fortnight ago when retailers Kitbag revealed the top 10 highest shirt sales to United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
And now Depay has taken to Instagram to give his thoughts, also revealing he plans on doing 'something special' for his fans to celebrate.

Depay's No 7 Manchester United shirt is the third most-sold after Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo
Position | Name | Club | Country |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Lionel Messi | Barcelona | Argentina |
2 | Cristiano Ronaldo | Real Madrid | Portugal |
3 | Memphis Depay | Manchester United | Holland |
4 | Bastian Schweinsteiger | Manchester United | Germany |
5 | Eden Hazard | Chelsea | Belgium |
6 | Wayne Rooney | Manchester United | England |

He said: 'Extremely humbled by the fact that my jersey is the #3 best selling in the world.
'Going to do something special for all my wonderful fans out there. Stay tuned!'
Depay poses for a picture on the social media site, in which he is smiling at the camera and signing one of his well-sold United No 7 shirts.
The famous number has previously been worn by United greats like David Beckham and Eric Cantona, and there is much pressure on the young Dutchman's shoulders.
After scoring against Watford in his last Premier League match, Depay will be hoping to hit a run of form after a difficult start at Old Trafford.
He burst onto the scene after his £25million move from PSV Eindhoven, scoring twice in a 3-1 Champions League play-off victory against Club Brugge, but latterly struggled to hold down a place in the starting XI.
Manchester United have three of the top 10-selling shirts in the world, with Bastian Schweinsteiger and Wayne Rooney also making the cut.

Woodward, who first revealed the news, suggests that such a boost in presence would be beneficial when trying to attract top names to Old Trafford.
'We believe the impact on player profiles around the world by joining Manchester United is very powerful,' he said.
'Clearly the shirt sale figures are strong evidence of that.'
