Zinedine Zidane forced to wear bigger trousers for Manchester City clash after Real Madrid boss split pairs in two gamesĀ

Zinedine Zidane has admitted that he is wearing bigger trousers for Wednesday's clash with Manchester City to avoid the embarrassing wardrobe malfunction that has hampered him twice in recent weeks.

The Real Madrid manager suffered the unfortunate fate of ripping his trousers during his over-exuberance on the touchline during the Champions League semi-final first leg at the Etihad last week.

The former France midfielder also tore his suit during the quarter-final comeback against Wolfsburg in April when Real Madrid won 3-0 at the Bernabeu to overcome a two-goal deficit.

Zidane has taken extra precautions to ensure his attire remains intact in the Spanish capital on Wednesday, though, after admitting he has moved up a size.Ā

'No I cannot change (my tailor),' Zidane said in an interview with BT Sport ahead of the second leg at the Bernabeu on Wednesday.

'What I can do is wear a bigger size. And that is what I have done.'

Cristiano Ronaldo returned the starting line-up for Real Madrid after missing the Etihad clash that ended in a goalless draw and Zidane says he was responsible for making the final decision to include the Portuguese forward.Ā

'Above all, the most important thing is how the player is feeling,' Zidane said when asked who decides whether a player is fit enough to play.

'The opinion of the medical staff is also important and then it is up to the coach to decide whether the player is 100 per cent. Cristiano is at 100 per cent.'

'Benzema has an issue and we can't take any risks with Karim.'
