Michael Dawson is in talks over a return to Nottingham Forest.
The 34-year old is a free agent after his contract finished at Hull City and Aitor Karanka believes his experience can help guide Forest in their bid for promotion next season.
Dawson made over 80 appearances for Forest as a youngster before moving to Tottenham in 2005 with Andy Reid for a combined £8million fee.

Forest tried to sign Dawson in January but hope to be successful at wrapping up a deal next week.
Dawson played more than 100 games during his four year spell at Hull but is set to leave despite having been in discussions with the club regarding a new deal.
Dawson started his career at Forest before making the switch to Tottenham in 2005
Forest finished the campaign in 17th place in the Championship, one place and four points ahead of Hull.
While at Tottenham Dawson was included as a late callup in England's squad for the 2010 World Cup, while he made four senior appearances for his country.
