James Beattie is poised to link up again with Garry Monk at Sheffield Wednesday following the coach’s departure from Birmingham City.
The 42-year old Beattie left St Andrews on Tuesday as new manager Aitor Karanka began to reshape his backroom team.
Goalkeeper coach Darryl Flahavan, 41, also left and is ready to follow Beattie to Hillsborough.

Both moved to Birmingham when Monk took charge in March 2018 yet remained at the club when he was sacked in 2019.
Former England, Everton and Southampton striker Beattie retained the title of first-team coach but was later sidelined under Monk’s successor Pep Clotet even though he had been instrumental in the development and improvement of players such as striker Che Adams, who was sold for £15m to Southampton.
Beattie has also worked with Monk at Swansea City, Leeds and Middlesbrough. Sheffield Wednesday finished six points higher than Birmingham in 16th position but will start next season on -12 points for breaching EFL spending rules.
Monk is hoping to recruit a new centre-back and at least two new forwards ahead of the new season.
