Townsend told talkSPORT: 'Food is my Kryptonite. I'm so strict during the season that when the season's over - (I) just (eat) anything around me and that's why I need that week before we go back to get back into shape, eat clean and start working again.
'(I go) straight to McDonalds. Two McChicken sandwiches, two fries and two drinks. Just a takeaway drive-thru then eat it at home.'

Crystal Palace will return for pre-season training before that date to bring their players back to speed and to play in some behind-closed-doors fixtures.
The winger, who is closing in on 150 appearances in all competitions for the Eagles, scored one Premier League goal last season in 25 appearances - his lowest goal tally in eight years.
Townsend also has 13 caps and three goals for England, but the 29-year-old has not been picked for his country in four years.
The Palace man started his career at fellow London side Tottenham Hotspur and had eight loan spells in the Football League before joining Newcastle United in 2015. He moved to south London a year later after just 13 matches for the Magpies.
