Pageant win top design award
Victorian designers Kate Reynolds and Amanda Cumming, behind label Pageant, have won the National Designer Award.
The award, which includes prizes worth more than $100,000, was presented at the Melbourne Fashion Festival on Monday.
Reynolds and Cumming, who are entering the fourth year of their label, say they plan to use their win to help them expand internationally.
"We are overwhelmed about what's to come," Reynolds told AAP.
Their winning collection was inspired by the subculture of girl gangs in Japan, military uniforms, surveillance technology and aerial footage of land.
This is the second consecutive year they have been nominated for the prestigious award.
