US working to arrange charter flights to help American leave Israel -- sources

WASHINGTON, Oct 12 (Reuters) - The U.S. State Department is working to arrange charter flights to Europe to help Americans depart Israel if they want, sources briefed on the matter.

The charter flights are expected to include flights from Tel Aviv to Athens. An announcement is expected later on Thursday, the sources said. On Wednesday, United Airlines it would will fly two additional flights between Newark, New Jersey and Athens in the coming days to help Americans who are trying to return home from Israel.
