Poland - Factors to Watch March 7
Following are news stories, press reports and events to watch that may affect Poland's financial markets on Wednesday. ALL TIMES GMT (Poland: GMT + 1 hour): RATES The Monetary Policy Council is to decide at its monthly meeting on the interest rates level, presently at 1.5 percent. The decision is expected early afternoon. LOANS Conditions for converting forex loans into the Polish zloty are much better this year than two years ago, the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna reports, citing the head of the Bank Guarantee Fund (BGF).
ELECTRIC CARS The Polish Energy ministry wants to add a special emission fee to the fuel price in order to raise money for subsidies for electric cars, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza reports.
POLLUTION The Polish government has adopted legislation that eliminates the worst quality coal from the market for households, the daily Rzeczpospolita reports, saying the step is aimed at fighting high pollution in Poland.
