WordPress (43% of the web) now lets AI agents write, optimise and publish content end-to-end.

So:
content = infinite
SEO structure = standardised

At the same time Google is:
answering queries directly
pushing AI Overviews
leaning on user/brand signals

Feels like weve moved from:

build better pages

to:

pages dont matter without signals

If AI can generate the pages, and Google can summarise them
whats left for affiliates / comparison sites?
do links still move the needle, or is it now engagement/brand?

New AI agents on WordPress.com could lower barriers to publishing while increasing machine-generated content across the web.

Here's the thing; there are no more eyeballs to see huge volumes of automated content.
Content dilution does not help quality.

If content is infinite and Google owns the answers, then distribution, brand, and user signals become the only real moats

Humans, however, remain uniquely perverse. What works today for g and the AI kiddies can disappear overnight when somebody notices the emperor has no clothes.

@tangor - was watching a live TV interview with musician, Sting, where he made the observation that he can spot AI easily in answer to the question about AI replacing artists.

True creativity and emotional engagement rules. Im not sure where that sits with Google. Maybe it doesnt need to, if the signals tell Google. Trouble, is, visibility matters in the loop that informs Google.
