Happy birthday, Lady Kitty Spencer! Princess Diana's glamorous niece, who is an ambassador for Dolce & Gabbana, turns 34

Princess Diana's niece, Lady Kitty Spencer, made her public debut at Prince William and Kate Middleton's 2011 wedding and has since gained recognition as a model and social figure.

Kitty, the eldest daughter of Charles, the 9th Earl Spencer, and Victoria Lockwood, has graced magazine covers and landed ambassador roles with luxury brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Bulgari.

Aside from her modelling career, she has been a committed advocate for the homeless charity Centrepoint, supporting her cousin Prince William at various events, including their recent awards ceremony.

Kitty's family includes younger twin sisters, Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia, her brother Louis, as well as half-siblings from her parents' other marriages.

Today, as she celebrates her 34th birthday, we explore her life and career journey.

Born on December 28, 1990 at St Mary's Hospital in London, Kitty and her siblings relocated to Constantia, South Africa, in 1995 to escape the intense media focus surrounding their family name.

Despite their parents' divorce in 1997, the children enjoyed a happy upbringing with their mother in one of Cape Town's oldest and most exclusive suburbs.

They often went on camping trips to the Cederberg mountains, where they embraced the natural surroundings, completely off-grid and without electricity.

With their father back at the family's ancestral home, Althorp, the siblings also spent many visits there, creating cherished memories.

Kitty has two twin sisters, Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia, and a brother Louis, as well as two half-sisters and a half-brother from their father's second and third marriages, and a half-brother from their mother's second marriage.

Her aunt was the late Princess Diana. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she said: 'I was so young [when Diana was alive]. There are only a few memories, but special memories and happy memories, and I’m so lucky to have those.'

Kitty and her twin sisters made their public debut in matching dusky pink and black outfits at the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, held at Westminster Abbey in 2011.

Later, in 2018, she attended Prince Harry's wedding with her mother, sister Amelia and brother Louis, who joined her arm-in-arm in a morning coat as they arrived at Windsor Castle.

By then, Kitty was already living in London and had established herself as a notable figure in high society.

Following in her mother's footsteps, she pursued modelling, signing with Storm Model Management almost a decade ago.

Her career highlights include walking the runway for Dolce & Gabbana in 2017, becoming a global ambassador for the fashion house in 2021, and her appointment as Bulgari's ambassador in 2018.

Her father was notably absent, due to a shoulder injury, and Kitty walked down the aisle with her brother Louis and half-brother Samuel Aitken, son of businessman Jonathan Aitken.

Unsurprisingly, Kitty's wedding wardrobe, featuring five haute couture gowns, was designed by the Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana.

At the time, Domenico Dolce said: 'She told us she had thought of us immediately, and we were very happy with that!'

As chairman of the Foschini Group, which owns British brands Whistles and Phase Eight, Michael also has deep ties to the fashion industry.

He is estimated to be worth £80million, owning properties in London and South Africa.

The couple reportedly met through friends in 2018, with their relationship going public after being spotted together in New York in 2019.

In 2023, Kitty and Michael welcomed their first child, a daughter named Athena, following a private pregnancy.

The trio lives in a stunning London mansion, believed to be worth £19million.
