Fans have rushed to Sabrina Carpenter's defense after a critic branded her as the 'catfish of the year.'
Hannah Pearl Davis, who is known online just as Pearl, has more than 1.52 million subscribers on her controversial YouTube channel, where she often touts her conservative viewpoints.
Hannah's harsh opinions have landed her in hot water in the past, with her previously sparking fury by claiming that divorce should be illegal and noting that women should give up the right to vote.
Now, the social media cynic has turned her sights to Hollywood's hottest songstress of the year: Sabrina.
The Espresso hitmaker, 25, was furiously criticized by Hannah on X, formerly known as Twitter, earlier this week.
Hannah shared side-by-side photos of the singer, with the one on the left showing Sabrina dolled up in glitz and glam this year, while the other snap was a throwback of the artist with very little makeup on.
The content creator began her shocking thread by claiming that she wanted to give out a 'catfish of the year' award, and listed a slew of stars who she felt deserved the title, including Sabrina.

She said: 'Now that 2024 is coming to a close it’s time to vote for our most important award: Catfish of the year.
'I want to give special thanks to the filters, plastic surgeons, and FaceTime app that make this all possible.'
Along with the images of Sabrina, Hannah wrote, 'Next up to bat we have Sabrina Carpenter.
'A phenomenal singer and pop sensation but under all the makeup she too is a mid.'
Fans were left jaw-dropped by Hannah's hateful tone and flocked to the replies to defend the singer.
One person said: 'Sabrina actually looks better without all the makeup... and you are just a sad little human.'
Someone else wrote: 'Nah she's pretty and prettier without the make up I think.'
Another user commented: 'Get Sabrina’s name out of your mouth!'
Someone else added: 'No, no, nope. Sabrina doesn’t need makeup at all.'

Other notable names that felt the wrath of Hannah and were included in her catfish nominations were Sydney Sweeney and Paige Spiranac.
Despite the 'catfish of the year' nomination from Hannah, Sabrina seems to be unstoppable at the moment, as 2024 marked the most successful year of her career.
New research by the British Phonographic Industry revealed that female artists spent 34 weeks in the top spot on the list of hit songs, beating the previous record of 31 weeks, set the year before.
This means songs by women were at number one for the majority of the year.
And Sabrina held the top slot for a number of weeks thanks to her addicting singles.
Her sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet, was the third most popular this year.
Three of her songs - Espresso, Please Please Please, and Taste - spent a combined 21 weeks at the top of the singles chart.
