Arne Slot insisted that Trent Alexander-Arnold's goal celebration in Liverpool's 5-0 win over West Ham told fans all they need to know about his future amid interest from Real Madrid.

With just six months remaining on his Liverpool contract, speculation has been rife that the 26-year-old will opt to seek pastures new when his deal expires.

Reports from Spain in recent days claimed Alexander-Arnold had informed Liverpool that he was intent on joining Real Madrid in the summer.

Alexander-Arnold was also said to have rebuffed offers from Liverpool for a new contract, and that he had 'no doubts' about wanting to join the European champions, but he made a chatter gesture with his hand after scoring at the London Stadium.

Speaking after Sunday's win sent Liverpool eight points clear, Slot addressed the speculation surrounding the futures of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold.

'No, I don't think it's negative at all. He's playing really well,' he told Sky Sports, when asked if Alexander-Arnold's situation was more negative than Salah's and Van Dijk's.

'He scored a great goal and the way he celebrated his goal probably tells you enough.

'So I don't think I have to say much more about it. I'm really happy with Trent, just as happy as I am with Mo and with Virgil.

'So for me there's no difference. For the outside world maybe there's a bit more things happening around Trent in the media than with the other two, but I'm happy with all three at the moment.'

The England international's gesture could be interpreted as him dismissing the recent speculation surrounding his future.

Contract negotiations between Liverpool and their homegrown star have reportedly stagnated in recent weeks.

Indeed, Alexander-Arnold has remained somewhat coy on his Anfield future, only stating that details around his contract situation will not be revealed publicly.

As for Liverpool's other two superstars, their contract situations also remain tentative.

Mail Sport previously reported that Liverpool have made initial contact with Salah over a new contract offer, but the Egyptian star is not thought to be close to coming to an agreement with the Reds over extending his time on Merseyside.

Salah admitted as much after Sunday's win, despite putting in another inspired display as he registered a goal and two assists.

Earlier this month, Van Dijk was also offered a new deal, but there was reportedly no breakthrough in negotiations with the 33-year-old.
