Olivia Dunne breaks silence over 'awkward' celebration with boyfriend Paul Skenes after winning ROTY
Olivia Dunne spoke up after her viral celebration with boyfriend and NL Rookie of the Year Paul Skenes broke the internet on Monday.
Skenes' crowning moment as the National League's best newcomer took an awkward turn as the Pittsburgh Pirates star did not appear thrilled with his award. On the other hand, Dunne did not hold back her excitement.
While fans ridiculed their contrasting reactions, Dunne posted content from Skenes' ROTY announcement on her social media pages, including a TikTok video of their celebration.
When one user commented 'Looks like yall had an argument before it was announced,' Dunne explained the reason behind Skenes' demeanor.
'He is just the king of nonchalant,' Dunne responded.

Furthermore, Dunne gave her boyfriend the meme treatment, trolling his lack of emotion.
The LSU gymnast posted a grid of Skenes wearing the same blank expression. 'Paul Skenes happy. Paul Skenes sad. Paul Skenes angry. Paul Skenes surprised. Paul Skenes frustrated. Paul Skenes winning ROTY,' the graphic showed.
The meme was later taken down from Dunne's story, the reason behind the deletion a mystery.
However, Dunne kept a photo of the pitcher holding his celebratory cake, which read 'Rookie and a cookie. Congrats ROY!'
The awardee gave the MLB network and his support system the most stoic smile as he looked anything but thrilled over the feat.
Skenes continued nodding before Dunne put her hand on his shoulder and came in for a hug.

The awkwardness peaked when Skenes appeared to lean forward for a kiss. However, Dunne pivoted left and then ducked to the right before Skenes sunk his face deep into her shoulder.
Skenes then stared deeply into Dunne's eyes before the half-hearted smile faded from his face.
On the other hand, Dunne continued to clap and said 'I'm so proud of you.'
The pitcher appeared to get more annoyed towards the end of the 26-second clip posted by the MLB network, scanning the room with a dead look.
After getting drafted by Pittsburgh with the first overall pick, Skenes had an incredible rookie campaign.

Skenes went 11-3 with an impressive 1.96 ERA over 133 innings with 170 strikeouts and a 2.45 WHIP.
Unfortunately, the Pirates failed to make the playoffs this season, finishing last in the National League Central with a 76-86 record.
Skenes insisted that his team will enjoy a far more successful year in 2025, saying in September: 'We're going to be better next year.
'We're going to win a lot more games next year. So just keep coming.'
