Awkward moment young singer is interrupted while singing national anthem at Knicks game

  • The New York Knicks defeated the Charlotte Hornets 125-101 on Thursday

A singer at Thursday night's Knicks game was forced to overcome a heckler as she sang the national anthem.

The young woman, named Liceli, was singing the 'Star Spangled Banner' prior to New York's clash against the Charlotte Hornets, which they ultimately went on to win comfortably.

But one fan shouted out shortly after she had began singing the song, leading her to briefly stop and death stare towards the crowd.

However, the singer quickly brushed off the interruption and continued singing as she got a rapturous reception from the Madison Square Garden crowd.

Karl-Anthony Towns could also be seen flashing a massive grin in approval of the singer.

Fans continued to show their support for her online, with one saying, 'she finished that so well after, it was so great'
