Jason Kelce reveals truth behind horrifying viral video of him flipping a car on the streets of Philadelphia
Jason Kelce has revealed he was filming a sketch for his new late-night show when he flipped an Eagles-themed vehicle on the streets of Philadelphia last week - but that part wasn't in the script.
Kelce, who spent 13 years with the Philadelphia Eagles before retiring at the end of last season, was seen driving a golf cart that was modified to look like one of the team's football helmets down Philly's famous Broad Street last week.
Yet in a shocking video which went viral online, the legendary center swerved dramatically from side to side in the cart before flipping it after taking too sharp of a turn, with the clip ending as it went over.
Many fans were left worried for Jason's welfare after seeing the cart flip, while also expressing confusion at why he was driving it in the first place.
Now he has explained the story behind the viral video on the latest episode of his and brother Travis' New Heights podcast - reassuring those same fans that he 'made it out alright' and that he was actually taking part in a shoot for his upcoming 'They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce' show at the time.
'We literally stopped traffic to do these shoots. It's a fun bit, it's good,' the 37-year-old told Travis. 'The Eagles have this one [helmet cart] and a throwback Kelly Green version of it, they live in the stadium.

'We thought it'd be funny... we're going to use this footage in conjunction with the "Late Night Show". I just took that one swerve a little bit too hard, and I just couldn't course-correct. Oh no.'
Travis then said: 'Dude, that can get dicey...'
Before Jason added: 'No, for sure. I stuck my arm out, it could have gone real bad, it could have gone horrendously bad.'
'I've actually seen this go real bad, like broken-hand bad, on a golf course,' Travis replied. 'You were on pavement! Thank god you came out unscathed.'
Jason then continued: 'It's pavement, so it's pretty soft. Golf courses are pretty hard with all that grass.
'I got those wheels up and I was like, "Oh dear, here it goes. I can feel it coming." Luckily I had my helmet on and I came out unscathed.'
'Dad always told us to wear a helmet. Those helmets with the wings on them, protected me for a while.'
Kelce's late-night show will premiere on January 3 and run for five straight Friday nights through February 1, starting at 1am, with the final slated episodes starting a half hour later on ESPN.
The ex-NFL star revealed the news of his venture on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' last month and said he has always been a fan of late-night talk shows.
He also told Travis on New Heights that Kimmel has been showing him the ropes when it comes to presenting ever since he appeared on his program.
