'I can see why it happens!' Married Konnie Huq reveals why celebs fall victim to the Strictly Come Dancing curse... as she prepares for Children In Need special of the hit show
She’s poised to feature in a Strictly Come Dancing special on behalf of Children In Need.
But while Konnie Huq and professional dance partner Neil Jones, with whom she has been paired, are both happily married, the TV presenter, 42, admits she can sympathise with those who succumb to the notorious ‘Strictly curse.’
She told The Mirror: ‘I know Strictly celebs are renowned for going off with their dancers and you can see why that happens. The training involves long days and, call me prudish, but some of the moves are quite intimate.

‘If you don’t cling on very tightly to your partner you’re going to fall on the floor, so I can see it can feel like you’re crossing the line.’
She added: ‘I was doing a jive, a fast dance, but some of the more intense dances I can see would feel awkward.’
Konnie, who married Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker in 2010, will hope to impress when she takes to the dance floor for the Blue Peter Strictly special with Neil, 35, whose wife Katya is currently enjoying a successful debut on the BBC show.

The presenter's comments follow earlier revelations about Simon Cowell, who she claimed led a nocturnal lifestyle which would see him show up to the ITV set after lunchtime.
Filling in for Richard Arnold on Good Morning Britain, the former Blue Peter presenter took over the entertainment news reins as she sat alongside X Factor evictee Spencer Sutherland to discuss this weekend's debut live show.
Discussing Simon's recent collapse at his London home, Konnie weighed in on his terrifying incident and revealed that he usually stays awake all night.

As show host Susanna Reid commented at first that it wasn't very 'rock 'n' roll' going for hot milk, she added that: 'The thing is, he lives quite a nocturnal lifestyle, doesn't he go to bed pretty much early morning?'
Answering her query, Konnie confirmed her suspicions and admitted that his sleep pattern would some times not see him on the X Factor set until lunchtime.
Konnie said: 'He really does, sometimes at 4 o'clock (in the morning). Sometimes on set he won't turn up until lunchtime and everybody is waiting for him to pitch up to start the show.'
