She might be an unlikely style icon, but the Queen has become known for her fearless use of colour, never more so than at the Royal Wedding, when she added a serious dose of sunshine to proceedings in her glorious yellow outfit

And she’s not the only one embracing this season’s hue. We’ve seen it shining on the Victoria Beckham and Versace catwalks and spanning the High Street.

But yellow isn’t for the faint-hearted, so choose the right shade for your skin tone — as a rule, pale skins suit pale yellows, while olive complexions can carry any shade.
