Marina Squerciati ended 2024 with a big announcement.
The actress revealed that she secretly given birth to a baby sometime before production of her show Chicago PD began in July.
The star, 40, shared a Polaroid photo of herself in a pink bikini while proudly displaying her baby bump on social media on New Year's Eve. Se wrote, '2024 was a BIG year for me, literally.
The new mom has not revealed the gender of the little one nor the name.
'I thought I handled being a pregnant working mom with grace,' she said, but encouraged her fans to 'swipe to see my daughter’s very different take (look at the face she's drawn for me).'
The family portrait showed a rather harried looking 'mom' with a smiling 'dad' and daughter.

Squerciati is married to attorney Eli Kay-Oliphant and the two are parents to a daughter, seven, whose name has not been revealed publicly revealed.
'PS. THIS was the real reason I wasn't in the first two episodes of @chicagopd, I was having a baby. Have a great NYE, friends!' the actress who plays officer Kim Burgess on the hit police procedural explained.
Now that the secret was out, it gave the opportunity for co-star LaRoyce Hawkins to offer his congratulations publicly.
'The best to doit. Love you Burgess✨' the actor wrote.
Co-worker Tracy Spiridakos commented using three red hearts.
Squerciati's Kim Burgess is preparing for some big life changes of her own.
The character is engaged to fellow cop Adam Ruzek, played by Patrick John Flueger and wedding bells could be in their future.
Fans can learn more about that when all three of the Chicago shows return to NBC in a crossover event on January 8.

This will be the first time such an event has happened since 2019.
Flueger spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the camaraderie on the set.
'The funny thing is that, with all the darkness, we goof around the whole time,' the actor explained.
'Everyone is so serious, but at the same time, we goof around.
'Every set says, "We're a family, we're a family." I'll tell you what: we are a family!'
'Our crew works so hard; they're there for such long hours that, if we didn't goof around, I don't know how it would be survivable.'
