Incredible moment a 73-year-old man completes his quest to run marathons in all 50 states captured when he crossed his last finish line

A 73-year-old Nevada man has fulfilled his dream of running marathons in all 50 states. 

John Maultsby started the endeavor aged 60 and has run eight marathons in total this year, WMUR-TV reported. 

He crossed his final finish line on Sunday in a popular New Hampshire race.

The athlete completed the Anthem Manchester City Marathon in four hours, nine minutes, 15 seconds, capping his 13-year quest.

John Maultsby (above) decided to began this endeavor at age 60 and has run eight marathons total this year

Footage of him crossing the finish line shows Maultsby being greeted by his loving and supportive family, including his wife and mother. 

He told WMUR-TV that the last 13 years have been a long, rocky road for him. 

Maultsby said he knows there are runners who've reached that goal a lot quicker, but he doesn't know too many who started when they were in their 60s. 

According to Facebook, Maultsby lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he has worked as a table games supervisor at the MGM Grand Las Vegas since 1993.

He shared that he's looking forward to getting some rest and relaxation now that he's reached his goal.
