Shocking footage has emerged of the moment a truck driver kicks a man in the face in a road rage incident.

Caught on a dashboard camera by a passing driver, the video shows a man wearing a black hooded jumper making his way over to the truck in Perth's north on Wednesday morning.

Stunned motorists watched on as an instance of road rage descended briefly into a violent attack at a red light.

As the man approached the truck, the pair appeared to engaged in a bitter dispute just moments before the driver in an orange fluorescent top swings his door open and kicks him in the face.

The dash cam owner can be heard saying: 'Oh here we go,' as the man walks through traffic. 'Oh in the face!' he continued after the man got a foot to the face.

As the lights turned green, the victim opted to return to his vehicle with a bloodied nose while the truck drove off from the scene. The dash cam owner then erupts into laughter as he drives off.

It's understood the incident took place at the Hutton Street exit of the Mitchell Freeway in Western Australia this week.

The incident is not believed to have been reported to police.

Several social media users have commented on the video, which was uploaded onto YouTube, with the captions: 'Truck Driver dishing it out!!! Ignore the date - this happened 4th May 16 at 8am.'
